Dear Mr. Reddemann:

'On September 3,1999, the NRC completed a routine on-site inspection of the licensed operator

requalification training program at your Point Beach Nuclear Power Plant. At the conclusion of

the inspection an exit meeting was conducted at the facility and the preliminary inspection

findings were discussed with station management and staff. The enclosed report presents the

. results of that inspection. No violations of NRC requirements were identified.

The inspectors concluded that your licensed operator requalification training program was ,

,

satisfactorily implemented in accordance with 10 CFR Part 55 requirements. Your staff

developed and administered the annual requalification examinations in accordance with

program guidance and provided sound evaluation of licensed operator performance. Licensed

operators observed in the plant and during the examinations performed satisfactorily,

in accordance with 10 CFR 2.790 of the NRC's " Rules of Practice," a copy of this letter and the

enclosure will be placed in the NRC Public Document Room.

' We will gladly discuss any questions you have conceming this examination.
