Dear Mr. Koval:

Enclosed is a copy of the July 1986 Discharge Monitoring Report for Permit No.

PA 0047325. The following information details data and/or noncompliances for some of the permitted outfalls:

Outfall 070: S-2 Sedimentation Pond There were no industrial discharges during July to the S-2 Pond. A total suspended solids (TSS) sample collected on July 10, 1986, howaver, had a concentration of 75 mg/l exceeding the TSS monthly average of 30 mg/1. The high TSS was attributed to natural runoff.

Outfall 071: Cooling Tower Blowdown The eight-hour composite sample collected on July 17, 1986, was discarded prior to determining total and dissolved iron concentrations.

Outfall 072: S&A Building Sump Noncompliance TSS concentrations are attributed to dirt and dust from an unpaved area in the vicinity of the sump and not from an industrial waste discharge.

Outfall 079: Sewage Treatment Plant The 30 mg/l monthly average limit for TSS was exceeded when the average was calculated at 57.5 mg/ liter. There were three samples that exceeded the daily maximum value. The dates and values are listed on the DMR, The STP operation was adjusted and returned to compliance on July 18 and was in compliance for the remainder of the month.
