Dear Mr. LaBuz:

In response to our telephone conversation of April 12, 1985, the Pennsylvania Power and Light Company is notifying the Pennsylvania Department of Environ-mental Resources that the Susquehanna SES surface water supply (PWS ID No.

2400998) has temporarily been replaced by groundwater supply (PWS ID No.

2400994). This change was necessary in order to repair water treatment equipment. This repair activity began on April 14, 1985.

With the use of groundwater, the surface water daily turbidity monitoring requirement will be discontinued until the water supply is transferred back to surface water. This will be noted in the submittal of the Monthly Turbidity Monitoring Form.

If you have any questions, please contact me at (215) 770-7889.

Respectfully yours, 9
