At the time our letter was written, a final submittal was expected to be avail-cble by June 30, 1976 ,

An evaluation of the consequences of AWS for Honticello is esentially complete.

Design modifications assumed in the analysis which would mitigate the consequences cre presently being evaluated. We expect the design modifications installed as a result of the analysis vill include a trip of the reactor recirculation pumps.  ;

Progress on the consequence analysis has been retarded by the recent work losd '

placed on key vendor personnel to respond to generic matters regarding AWS for  !

category B plants. Probability evaluatiors for an ATWS event having serious con- I sequences are in progress, but will not be available for some time. l Ve presently anticipate that the results of these studies, our proposed course I of action, and a schedule for implementation vill be available by September 1,1976.
