Dear Mr. Denton:

In accordance with 10 CFR 50.30(c), Carolina Power tr Light Company hereby transmits three (3) s1gned originals and sixty (60) copies of Revision 1 to the Shearon Harris Nuclear Power Plant (SHNPP) Emergency Plan.

This revision reflects general changes to,the SHNPP Emergency Plan which are indicated by vertical bars in the right-hand margin of the revised pages.

The Plant Emergency Procedures, which will conta1n Emergency Action Levels, protective action recommendations based on core and containment conditions 1n accordance with guidance contained in IE Information Notice 83-28, and plant system and effluent parameter values for off-normal conditions with the specific indicators and instrument readings, are scheduled for submittal to the NRC by August 31, 1984.

Our Evacuation Time Study is currently underway and is scheduled for completion by December 31, 1983. Annex H of the SHNPP Emergency Plan will include data on populat1on by local planning zones, evacuation routes, and evacuation times. and described in the North Carolina Radiological Emergency Response Plan (NCRERP) in Support of SHNPP. When the NCRERP is available, the locations of reception centers and shelters will be included in the SHNPP Emergency Plan.
