Dear Mr. Landry:

On September 28,1994 the Pilgrim Administrative-Technical Committee (PATC) voted to recommend that Boston Edison Company be allowed to remove its fish barrier net  :

! from the Pilgrim Station discharge canal for 1995, on a trial basis. There has been no l evidence of any significant discharge-related fish incidents for several years since the net has been deployed, or indications that the net may have prevented any such incidents. However, a reserve net will be maintained at Pilgrim Station should l conditions develop which suggest its use might be environmentally favorable. The PATC will review the fish barrier net requirement at Pilgrim on an annual basis.

As the barrier net is a stated condition of the Pilgrim Station NPDES Permit

1. MA0003557, we would appreciate your written approval for its removal from the discharge canal during 1995, based on the PATC recommendation.
