Dear Hr. Landry:

The Boston Edison Company is requesting two changes to the Pilgrim Nuclear Power Station (PNPS), National Pollutant Discharge Elimination System (NPDLS)

Permit #MA0003557. The requested changes are detailed in the attached excerpt from the NPDES Permit and are as follows:

Change "in 20,000 gallon batches" to "in no more than 20,000 gallon batches".

2) Part I . Paraarao . A. I .n (pagg b of 151 Change " sodium nitrite, shall not exceed 2.0 mg/l" to " sodium nitrite, calculated from nitrite analysis, shall not exceed 2.0 mg/1."

Please confirm whether approval of this request will require modification of the existing NPDES Permit. He would appreciate a response to this request by August 15, 1992.
