. Prelusion of Fuel Movement into Containment By letter dated January 27,1993, Portland General Electric (PGE) submitted License Change =
Application (LCA) 229, requesting modification of the Trojan operating license to a-
" Possession Only License". - LCA 229 removes on a permanent t, asis PGE's authorization to ,
operate Trojan as a nuclear generating station.
Additionally, by letter cated February 2,1993, PGE certified to the Nuclear Regulatory Commission (NRC) that the fuel had been permanently removed from the reactor vessel at -
Trojan and had been placed in the spent fuel pool, thus placing the unit in a permanently shutdown and defueled condition.
This letter certifies that PGE will not move fuel back into the containment [ building at Tr'o jan withc,ut prior NRC approval.
