DATA SUBMITTED FOR THE RECORD E
WI Pasteurized Milk Network - Of the 62 milkshed stations in the Public f f Health Service'c Pasteurized Milk Network, operated cooperatively by State health departments and milk control agencies, two stations ---
l Sacramento and San Francisco --- receive milk from dairy farms operating in the general area of interest. The San Francisco milkshed includes milk collected from' farms in the vicinity of the reactor site, whereas

the Sacramento milkshed does not. The level of radionuclides 4 found in

radioactive contaminants in milk in the general area of the Bodega reactor site. Milk samples collected from these stations are analyze 5 at the '
Southwestern Radiological Health Laboratory of the Pub 1f.c Health Service at Las Vegas, Nevada.
Sub-samples collected from e'ach milk plant serving each Network station i are composited in proportion to the relative volumes of milk sold by each
?
g dairy, and are intended to represent approximately 90*/, of the milk processed

SUMMARY
The above data indicate that during the past few years increases in-environmental radioactivity have occurred in the general region of the Bodega Bay reactor site to the extent that transient levels have reached Range II of the Federal Radiation Council Report No. 2; P, t Guidance for Iodine 131. Pre- and post-operational surveillance
)~ ,j at and around the site are required for continual assessment of C f Eh possible contributions of normal or abnormal reactor plant discharge

Dear Congres:
nan Bell: s '
e s e i What is the factual basis for Craig hsmer's zone of undetectability"? Seismographers here and in Japan . ave issued reports which say that nucinar explosions underground are clearly dist-in:aisnaba from earth tronors. Could you send np the Mc.smer material. ;
Have just returned from Bodega Bay where the local people are anxious, to say'the.least, about the Nuclesr Reactor being im.pse,d on their community l
by the AEC wnich,incidentcll[ispunaingahell of a lot of monoy into the University of- Califomia, and I'm against that kind of cettitralized ~ buying up of state institutions, and now I hear that Malibu is going to get a similar stiff arming by the AEC, iblibu citizens are geing to howl blo&dy murder and I'd Ilike to get yrur thinking on this matter and whatever factual eterial you em send--or-is this another ma,tter whero the ABC thinks the American constituency is too stupid to be given '
