Additional Information for Inspection Report No. 50-29/84-05

Dear Sir:

Reference (b) documents Yankee Atomic Electric Company's response to Inspection No. 50-29/84-05. In accordance with the requirements of Item 2.b in our response, this letter notifies the U.S. Nuclear Regulatory Comission of Yankee Atomic Electric Company's intention to authorize additional radiation protection personnel to perform maintenance on respiratory equipment.

These additional personnel became qualified to repair respirators after attending and participating in a special two-day training class performed by an outside contractor. This class consisted of a formal lecture, workshop and examination, in which each student completely disassembled, reassembled, and inspected each type of negative pressure respirator available on-site.

It is our intention to allow these recently qualified personnel to perform maintenance on respirators one week from the date of this letter.

If you have any questions or desire additional information, please contact us.

Very truly yours.
