This position.has been discussed with the Resident inspe: tor at-1 YNPS and it has been agreed to outline the changes anticipated in advanceLof j
the formal Proposed Change process.
!l The changes would be made to Specification 3/4 8.1 in accordance with' guidance provided by Westinghouse Standard Techn{r'el Spec { fication.
Revision 4, November 1981 as follows:
1.
Specification 4.8.1.1.2.a.4 would be modifled to, test the.three Emergency -
't Diesel Generators quarterly on a staggered basis at' greater'than 450:kW.
(continuous rating) for a period of one hour.
2.
Specification 4.8.1.1.2.d.4 would be modified to test.the-three' Emergency Diesel' Generators during each refueling' outage interval for a; period of '

Until such time as these changes receive final Commission review and approval, Yankee will continue to follow the testing prescribed by: Plant Technical Specifications.
