Dear Mr. Fairtile:

I wish to inform you of the appointment of Mr. Merrill J. Atkins to the position of Yankee Rowe Decommissioning Licensing Manager. Mr. Atkins will report directly to me, Donald A. Reid, Yankee Atomic Electric Company Decommissioning Manager. Mr. Atkins' responsibilities will entail the management of all licensing activities required to support completion of the decommissioning of Yankee Nuclear Power Station. The appointment of Mr. Atkins will be effective on April 12,1999. After this date, it is our intention that Mr. Atkins serve as the primary point of contact for all information flow between the NRC and YAEC; therefore, we would appreciate all formal NRC correspondence to Yankee Atomic Electric Company being directed to:
