Beaver Valley Power Station, Unit No. 1 Docket No. 50-334 Request for Amendment 56 to Operating License Gentlemen:

Enclosed are three (3) signed originals and thirty-seven (37) copies of a prcposed change to the Beaver Valley Power Station Appendix A Technical Specifications. The change is being submitted *to revise table 3.7-4 to delete hydraulic snubbers that were either removed or changed to mechanical snubbers as a result of the piping reanalysis for the Show Cause Order or the NPSH modifications.

Safety Evaluation Snubbers RS-HSS-212 and RS-HSS-228 were deleted and replaced with rigid supports dae to the piping reanalysis associated with the Show Cause Order. Also, as a result of this reanalysis, WR-HSS-307 and CC-HSS-406A & B were replaced with mechanical snubbers. The following snubbers were deleted and replaced with rigid supports in conjunction with the NPSH piping modifications SI-HSS-211, QS-HSS-502 and OS-HSS-503.

Additionally, QS-HSS-501 was replaced with a mechanical snubber.

We believe that these changes improve the system integrity since all modifications were analyzed and installed in accordance with the latest NRC approved criteria for Beaver Valley Power S tation. The OSC and ORC have reviewed the

' proposed change to the Technical Specification and have de-

,termined that there are no safety implications associated with

We have determined this change to be a class III amendment and we are enclosing a check for $4,000 in accordance with 10 CFR 170.22.

I would like to request that the change be handled on an emergency basis. The change has to be implemented prior to the plant entering Mode 4.
