Beaver Valley Power Station, Unit No. 2 Docket No. 50-412, License No. NPF-73 Proposed License Amendment Request No.120 Pursuant to 10 CFR 50.59 and 50.90, Duquesne Light _ Company requests an amendment to the above license to: 1) allow increased calculated doses as described in the Updated Final Safety Analysis Report (UFSAR), and 2) request NRC approval of the Small Break Loss of Coolant Analysis (SBLOCA) radiological consequences evaluation.

The proposed change will modify the UFSAR to address an increase in- calculated radiological doses for the Locked Rotor Accident as shown in Attachment A-1 and described in Attachment B-1. The proposed change also modifies the UFSAR as shown in Attachment A-2-by revising calculation parameters associated with the SBLOCA radiological evaluation. These calculation parameters changes are described in L

Attachment B-2. NRC approval of the proposed changes is hereby requested.

Future changes affecting dose analyses may require NRC submittals if this request has not yet been approved. It is requested that NRC review be completed by June 1, 1998, to avoid the need for additional submittals for each calculation performed.

The proposed Unit 2 UFSAR changes are presented in Attachments A-1 for the

- Locked Rotor event and A-2 for the SBLOCA. The safety analysis (including the no significant hazards evaluation) is presented in Attachment B-1 for the Locked Rotor event and B-2 for the S8LOCA. Attachment C-1 presents the 10 CFR 50.59 evaluation that documents the Locked Rotor unreviewed safety question and Attachment C-2 presents the 10 CFR 50.59 cvaluation that documents the SBLOCA unreviewed safety question.
