Gentlemen:
Millstone Nuclear Power Station, Unit No. 2 Resolution of Cycle 3 Startup Commitments In Reference (1), the NRC Staff issued License Amendment No. 52 and the supporting Safety Evaluation to Facility Operating License No. DPR-65, for Millstone Unit No. 2. Documented in Reference (1) were commitments for Northeast Nuclear Energy Company (NNECO) to:
(1) Provide an assessment of the neutron dose rate reduction and actual man-rea exposure savings experienced during Cycle 3 operation with the neutron shield installed in the area of the reactor cavity.
(2) Replace the Stem Mounted Limit Switches (SMLS) on Valves SI-614, 624, 634, and 644 during the first unscheduled cold shutdown after September 15, 1979.
In response to Item (1) above, NNECO hereby submits the attached report,
    " Evaluation of Neutron Shield Effectiveness. In fulfillment of Item (2) above, please be advised that the SMLS on Valves SI-614, 624, 634, and 644 have been replaced with environmentally qualified switches.
NNECO trusts you find this information sufficient to resolve the noted Reference (1) concerns.
