| The local business community and thousands ofjobs depend on a reliable power system. SONGS serves a critical function and has done so with reliability, affordability, and with a focus on being a clean energy source. These three aspects are critical to our populations that are underserved, low-income, and fragile. We appreciate that Edison provides the information, answers the questions, and makes their community part of the process. Dear Congressman Issa,
On behalf of the hundreds of children with special needs, combat veterans, their families, and the hundreds of community volunteers who work to support our programs, I am writing to express support for the proposed restart and operation of the San Onofre Nuclear Generating Station (SONGS) Unit 2.
As a neighbor to SONGS we have experienced firsthand:
- 1) Edison's focus on safety - the company has gone to great lengths to inform the public about its actions regarding the station.
- 2) Edison's integration of community - Ivey Ranch has the support of SONGS volunteers, toy drive donations, and corporate citizenship that partners to assist our clients with disabilities.
We applaud the fact that above the job they do, they are active, involved, and caring community members.
Ivey Ranch relies on community support - Edison and SONGS are model corporate citizens that deliver it.
Respectfully, Tonya Danielly '" "
