REACTOR SCRAM At 3:22 a.m. (CDT) on June 18, 1987, 151 days of continuous operation was terminated due to a reactor scram on high water level in the reactor vessel.
The licensee is presently investigating the cause(s) for the high level. All systems operated normally during the scram and the reactor is being maintained in hot standby. The licensee will be taking the plant to cold shutdown to perform maintenance activities. The plant is estimated to shut down for 7 days.
Neither the licensee nor the NRC plans to issue a press release.
The state of Louisiana will be informed.
