The information is as initially received without verification or evaluation, and is basically all that is known by the Region IV staff on this date.

SUBJECT:

COMPLETION OF SECOND REFUELING OUTAGE On June.23, 1989, at 11:45 p.m., the licensee synchronized the main generator to the grid. This completed a 101-day outage which consisted of an 84-day refueling outage and a subsequent 17-day forced outage. The refueling outage consisted of-replacing approximately one third of the fuel elements in the core, l preventive maintenance tasks, repairs to the service water system and leak rate testing.- The forced outage was required to replace a failed preferred station transformer which feeds nonsafety-related equipment.

Neither the licensee nor the NRC plans to issue a press release.

The state of Louisiana has been informed.
