PUBLIC MEETING
SUMMARY
- 2021 ANNUAL ASSESSMENT MEETING REGARDING THE V.C. SUMMER NUCLEAR STATION, DOCKET NO. 50-395, MEETING NUMBER 20220449 On May 5, 2022, the Nuclear Regulatory Commission (NRC) conducted a live hybrid (virtual and in-person) meeting concerning the V. C. Summer Nuclear Station. The purpose of the meeting was to provide opportunities for the public to discuss the annual assessment for the period of January 1, 2021, through December 31, 2021.
In response to the COVID-19 coronavirus and updated Federal Government guidance on travel and social distancing, along with the public interest, the meeting was held both remotely through the Microsoft Teams application and in-person at McCrorey-Liston School of Technology, 1978 State Hwy 215 S, Blair, SC. Additionally, a call-only telephone bridge line was available. The following documents related to the meeting are available in ADAMS: Meeting Notice (ML22116A195), Annual Assessment Letter (ML22054A321), and Assessment Meeting Presentation (ML22115A050).
The meeting was conducted from 6:00 PM to 7:30 PM local time. Meeting attendees consisted of representatives from the NRC, State Government, Dominion Energy and a member of the public. Due to the nature of the meeting, a partial list of virtual attendees is included. An in-person attendee list is included. NRC staff were available for questions following each presentation. The mayor of the Jenkinsville, SC attended the meeting (member of the public) and asked questions regarding NRCs Reactor Oversight Action Matrix Performance Indicators and the recent transition of public notification from sirens to the Integrated Public Alert and Warning System (IPAWS). All questions were answered by the senior resident and the senior government liaison officer.
The meeting was listed in the Public Meeting Feedback System under Meeting Code 20220449 and as of the date of this memo, no feedback responses were submitted.
