" STAFFING OF FIRE BRIGADE" TVA's letter dated April 29, 1988, provided information regarding the implementation of a new fire emergency response orgath:d, ion at BFN. In this submittal; TVA provided a comparison of the new approach with the requirements of Branch Technical' Position CMEB 9.5-1. The April 29 submittal also

' indicated that TVA was only changing the composition of the fire brigade and would continue to satisfy existing requirements.

TVA is committed. to meet the requirements for the BFN fire brigade as set forth in Branch Technical Position'CHEB 9.5-1, section C.3. Other certifications identified in the April 29, 1988 letter, such as the fire-operator. emergency medical technician / paramedic certifications, are not regulatory requirements and were not intended to'be commitments to NRC.

In summary, TVA will provide a fire brigade at BFN that meets the requirements as set forth in. Branch Technical Position CHEB 9.5-1, sectiot. C.3. No other regulatory commitments are made regarding the duties or services provided by the BFN fire brigade.
