Bulletin 88-03, Inadequate Latch Engagement in HFA-Type Latching Relays Manufactured by General Electric (GE) Company" This letter provides the results of the BFN Unit 2 inspections,1as; required by

. Reference 1 and as committed to by TVA in Reference 2.

A total of 61-HFA relays were inspected, 14 of which were contained in spare compartments. 'The

result of these inspections is that none of the relays were found to have inadequate latch' engagement. Therefore, no corrective repairs or replacement of thesefrelays were required.-

Plant procedures are'in place to. require a complete calibration and latch

~

engagement inspection prior to placing new or spare HFA relays into service..

This completes the actions requested-and' reporting requirements for BFN Unit 2-HFA.' relays.
