Subject:

FATALITY A 55-year old employee of a fire-watch contractor died of an apparent heart attack on Ju ly 24 1990, while on duty in the Turbine Building. The employee collapsed at about 5:40 a.m. (CDT), in the presence of his supervisor, who immediately called for assistance.

Station personnel responded and initiated CPR. The City of Zion rescue squad was called to the scene shortly after and the victim was later taken to a nearby hospital.

Nu radioactive contamination was involved.

The State of Illinois will be notified. The information in this Preliminary Notification has been reviewed with licensee management.
