Martin Huano of pnhart i rinna r. acenciatne John Russ ,, CES of item Comments Reg'd Action By Mr. Huang called to inquire what Cygna's intent was regarding the Review Issues on the use of ACI 349. He asked if Cygna was questioning the consistency of use of the code passages of ACI 349 as employed by Gibbs & Hill. I replied that Cygna questioned Gibbs & Hill's selective use of the code provisions for qualifying some anchor bolts with spacing violations and the use of the code provisions in arriving at the allowable values for Richmond Inserts as reported by the on-site testing program. Mr. Huang also asked about Cygna's issue on the provisions of section 7.3 of Appendix B. He wanted to know how this provision affected the factor of safety of expansion anchors. I stated that this provision was to be applied to code derived anchor allowables.
