SUBJECT: NRC INSPECTION REPORT NO. 50-445/99-14; 50-446/99-14
Dear fdr. Terry:
This refers to the inspection conducted on July 7 through August 21,1999, at the Comanche
Peak Steam Electric Station, Units 1 and 2, facility. The enclosed report presents the results of
this inspection.
During the 6-week period covered by this inspection, your conduct of activities was generally
characterized by safety-conscious operations, sound radiological controls and maintenance,
and acceptable engineering.
Based on the results of this inspection, the NRC has determined that four Severity Level IV
violations of NRC requirements occurred. These violations are being treated as noncited
violations (NCVs), consistent with Appendix C of the Enforcement Policy. These NCVs are
described in the subject inspection report. if you contest the violation or severity level of these
NCVs, you should provide a response within 30 days of the date of this inspection report, with

the basis for your denial, to the Nuclear Regulatory Commission, ATTN: Document Control
Desk, Washington, DC 20555-0001, with copies to the Regional Administrator, U.S. Nuclear
