The voice vote took place at the March 12, 1987 Town Meeting:

Article 22:

By petition of Anne D. Smith and others: "To see if the Town will vote to oppose any relaxation of existing safety standards for nuclear power reactors and hereby petition the Nuclear Regulatory Commission of the United States to deny tne request of Public Service Company of New Hampshire for a reduction in the mandated ten mile emergency planning zone surrounding the Seabrook Nuclear Power Station. The record of this vote shall be transmitted to the Governor of the State of New Hampshire, the New Hampshire Congres-sional Delegation, the Atomic Safety and Licensing Board, the Nuclear Regulatory Commission and the President of the United States."
