NOTICE OF VIOLATION Union Electric Company Docket No. 50-483 As a result of the inspection conducted during the period May 12-29, 1986, and in accordance with the " General Policy and Procedures for NRC Enforcement Actions," 10 CFR Part 2, Appendix C (1985), the following violation was identified:

Technical Specification 3.3.3.10 and Table 3.3-13 require that with less than one channel of the Radwaste Building Vent System iodine and particulate sampler operable, auxiliary sampling equipment must be utilized to continuously collect l the samples specified in Table 4.11-2 or the effluent release must be terminated.

Contrary to the above, the Radwaste Building Vent System iodine and particulate sampler was inoperable on April 16, 1986, between about 0545 and 1545, but auxiliary sampling equipment was not utilized, and the particulate and charcoal (iodine) samples specified in Table 4.11-2 were not collected, nor was the effluent releases terminated.

l l This is a Severity Level IV violation (Supplement I).

The inspection showed that action had been taken to correct the identified violation and to prevent recurrence.
