As a result of the inspection conducted on June 1-5, and June 29, 1987, and in accordance with the " General Policy and Procedcres for NRC Enforcement Action,"
10 CFP. Part 2, Appendix C (1985), the following violation was identified:
Callaway Plant Technical Specifications (TS) contain the following requirement:
4.7.10.1.1.e of the TS Surveillance Requirements requires at least Section once per twelve months' the cycling of each testable valve in the fire suppression system flow path through at least one complete cycle of full travel.
Contrary to the above, on April 4,1987, it was discovered that' three critical fire suppression water system isolation valves were omitted from surveillance procedures and had not been cycled as required every twelve months since receipt of the Operating License on June 11, 1984.
This is considered a Severity Level IV violation (Supplement I).
The inspection showed that action had been taken to correct the identified violation and to prevent recurrence. Consequently, no reply to the violation is required and monitoring of the long term corrective actions program is
