NOTICE OF VIOLATION Union Electric Company Docket No. 50-483 As a result of the inspection conducted on June 17-26 and July 8, 14-16, 1986, and in accordance with the " General Policy and Procedures for NRC Enforcement Actions," 10 CFR Part 2, Appendix C (1985), the following violation was identified:

Callaway Facility Operating License No. NPF-30 requires that reactor core power levels be less than or equal to 3411 megawatts thermal (100% power) and that violation of this requirement be reported within 24 hours2.777778e-4 days <br />0.00667 hours <br />3.968254e-5 weeks <br />9.132e-6 months <br /> in accordance with the provision procedures of in describe 1010CFR CFR50.72 with (c),

50.73(b), written followup)in (d), and (e . accordance with the Contrary to the above, reactor core thermal power levels exceeded 100% power for about 504 hours0.00583 days <br />0.14 hours <br />8.333333e-4 weeks <br />1.91772e-4 months <br /> during the period of time from approximately November 3, 1985, to December 3, 1985, by as much as one percent and neither of the reports required by the license were made. Since +he power level of 101% power (i two percent power for heat balance error) was less than the power level used as a maximum power level for Callaway's safety analysis (104.5% power), this incident was considered to have no immediate safety significance.

This is a Severity Level V violation (Supplement I).

The inspection showed that action had been taken to correct the identified violation and to prevent recurrence. Consequently, no reply to the violation is required and we have no further questions regarding this matter.
