The information requested in Enclosure 1 of your February 19, 1976 letter to assist you in your evaluation of Hope Creek Generating Station with

, respect to the requirements of Appendix I to 10 CFR 50 has been developed and is herewith submitted. The submittal includes three (3) signed originals and 40 conformed copies. j The information requested in Enclosure 2 of your February 19, 1976 letter '

was previously transmitted to you by our letter of June 1, 1976 We have l updated those responses and are hereby submitting revised responses to Enclosure 2 of your February 19, 1976 letter. All previous responses to Enclosure 2 contained .in __our June 1,1976 letter to you should be discarded ,

and replaced with this submittal (marked as Rev.1).

Please note that the parameters presented in response to question 1 of Enclosure 2 are based on a desigr. which does not include several features which were previously proposed for inclusion into the Hope Creek G6nerating Station's design. On June 5, 1973 in our letter to Mr. B.J. Youngblood from Mr. F.W. Schneider (copy attached), we stated our intention to ' delete

, two of these syste:ts if they were demonstrated not to be necessary.

These features were analyzed as augments in item 6 (Cost-benefit analysis) of our response to Enclosure 1 and are determided not to be cost effective.

Upon acceptance by the staff of the cost-benefit evaluation, PSE&G will ,

eliminate from the plant design these features which were not found to be cost effective.

All of the parameters necessary as input to the computer codes presented in Reg. Guide A.CC have been previously provided to you in our initial submittal of June 2,1976. Supporting information for all of the parameters supplied, along with piping and instrument drawings and descriptions of the various process streams are included as Appendix A of Enclosure 2 of

this submittal.

l As evident from the analysis performed, releases from the Hope Creek i Generating Station will be as low as is reasonably achievable as required by 10 CFR 50.34a.
