Subject:

Request for Calculations for Affected CVC's Comanche Peak Steam Electric Station Independent Assessment Program - Phase 4 Job No. 84056

Dear Mr. George:

As a part of the cable tray support review calculations for Phase 4, Cygna requested the change verification checklists (CVC's) for a number of CMC's and DCA's. The purpose of these requests was to assure that design changes had been properly evaluated by Gibbs & Hill and to review any required calculations used in the design change evaluation.

On July 20, 1984, Cygna requested a number of CVC's from the site DCTG, All CVC's immediately available were transmitted to Cygna. CVC's for relatively old DCA's were not immediately available. To expedite the review, Mr. T.D. Hawkins of Gibbs & Hill reviewed these old CVC's which were only available at Gibbs &

Hill, and telephoned a list of CVC's requiring calculations as well as the associated calculation numbers to Cygna at the Comanche Peak site. Last week, Cygna requested copies of the calculations listed on the available CVC's and the calculations from the list provided by Mr. Hawkins. Despite these actions, Cygna was still unable to locate calculations for all CVC's for two reasons:

1. CVC's for later revisions of CMC's and DCA's may not require calculations but rather rely on calculations from previous revisions. Therefore, no calculations are referenced on the more recent revision to the CVC. (See list on Attachment A.)
2. For the CMC's and DCA's listed below, Cygna could not locate the calculations as referenced on the CVC.
