Reference is made to Appendix A, " Notice of Violation" to your letter, subject: Report No. 50-297/83-01, dated June 10, 1983.
- 1. The violation is accepted.
- 2. During the period in which the violation occurred, the orientation of students and radiation workers had been split between the Reactor Engineer (RE) and the Reactor Health Physicist (RHP). The orientation began with the RHP where the " check-off sheet" was initiated. The individual (s) next went to the RE for the Reg Guide 8.29 and its oral presentation. Finally, the individual (s) returned to the RHP for the quiz and to get their film badge.
- 3. The Reactor Health Physicist has now been assigned full responsibility for the orientation process.
- 4. In addition to centralizing responsibility, the film badge shall be withheld until both the " check-off-sheet" and the quiz have been satisfactorily completed and returned to the RHP.
- 5. Compliance will be fully effected with the Fall Semester beginning August 29, 1983.
If further information should be desired, we shall be glad to comply with your request.
