Dear Sir:
North Carolina State University's PULSTAR Reactor Facility is currently constructing a subterratcous vault for the buried primary piping and N-16 Delay Tank. This facility upgrade requires a modification to the CAA perimeter and consequently a revision to the Physical Security Plan is required.

The attached revision to the PULSTAR Physical Security Plan (Revision 6) addresses physical L
security during the interim construction period which is scheduled for approximately twenty (20) weeks. A
~
subsequent revision to the Plan will be submitted in the near future which will expand the CAA to include the completed vault. The changes discussed in the revised Plan do not decrease the safeguards effectivenesa of the Plan and conforms to a 10 CFR 50.54 (p)(2) class of change.
NCSU is submitting this revised Physical Security Plan to Region 11 following a discussion with Mr.
Craig Bass.:tt, Senior Radiation Specialist, Division of Radiation Safety and Safeguards, Region 11.
