Dear Mr. Denton:
-Duke Power Company is filing herewith Amendment No. 68 to its Application for Licenses for the McGuire Nuclear Station which is under construction pursuant to Construction Permit CPPR-84. This filing includes three signed original copies of the amendment with attachments entitled, " Revision 42 to the Final Safety Analysis Report" and Revision 5 to Report No.~MDS/PDG-77-1, " Evaluation of the Effects of Postulated Pipe Failures Outside Containment for McGuire Nuclear Station".
This filing also includes-15 additional conformed copies of the amendment with an additional.45 copies of Revision 42 to the Final Safety Analysis Report and 22 copies of Revision 5 to Report No'. MDS/PDG-7.7-1.
Revision 5 to Report No. MDS/PDG-77-1 provides the final documentation of tihe pipe break anal sis performed on Unit 1.
Revision 42 updates various sections:

Boyd's letter of August 6, 1976.
