This is j
being done, consistent with the provisions of Generic Letter 88-16, to obviate the need to process Technical Specification changes necessitated by cycle-specific analyses. These changes are in large measure already considered by the NRC staff to meet the guidance of GL 88-16, as documented in a p';evious license amendment safety evaluation for Catawba (Referenr.e: Amendments 115 (Unit 1) and 109 (Unit 2) dated March 25, 1994).
The proposed changes contained l
herein are simply additional examples of the previously-approved j
philosophy.
The marked-up Technical Specification pages are contained in Attachment I, a Justification and Safety Analysis in Attachment II, and a "No Significant Hazards" analysis appears in Attachment III.
In accordance with regulations, the States of North Carolina and South Carolina have received a copy of this amendment request.
