Proposed Technical Specification (TS) Amendment Control Area Ventilation System (TS 3.7.6)

Dear Sir:

Attached are proposed changes for Facility Operating Licenses NPF-9 and NPF-17' for McGuire Nuclear Station, Units '1 and 2, respectively. The proposed changes seek a one time allowed outage. ,

time extension for each train of the control area . ventilation system in order to facilitate maintenance on the system that71s-  !

needed to improve system reliability.

A similar request was approved by the mc on May 12, 1989.

Amendment 95/77 authorized a fourteen day < > cension of the allowed '

outage time for the control area ventilat"..a system to provide for '

modification to the system.

t Attachment 1 contains- the proposed changes to the . Technical~

Specifications. Attachment 2 contains the Justification and Safety Analysis in support of the proposed changes. Pursuant to 10 CFR l 50.91, Attachment 3.provides.the' analysis performed in accordance- ,

with the standards contained in 10 CFR 50.92. This ' analysis' concluded that the. proposed' amendment do.es' not;-involve _a. .
