Subject:

Catawba Nuclear Station, Unit 1 3 L Docket No. 50-413 '

4 Supplement to Replacement SG Proposed TS Amendment  ;

, Pursuant to 10 CFR 50.90, attached are proposed revision.s to Table 2.2-1, Reactor Trip System Instrumentation Trip Setpoints. These changes reflect the change in programmed T from 590.8 *F to 585.1 'F upon replacement of the steam generators at Catawba Unit 1.

These changes were inadvertently omitted from my September 30,1994 submittal. Also included are the marked up Technical Specification changes for Table 2.2-1, this change was requested in my September 30,1994 submittal, and the marked up Technical Specification

page was omitted.

Duke power is requesting that the change requested for the steam line safety valve lift settings in Table 3.7-2, which was requested in my September 30,1994 submittal, be withdrawn. It has been determined that these changes are no longer needed.

Duke Power is requesting review and approval of these changes by May 25,1996, which reflects the beginning of the Catawba steam generator replacement outage. Duke is asking that these changes be reviewed and approved concurrently with the McGuire changes

. (submitted under separate cover September 18,1995), and that the McGuire and Catawba Unit I changes become effective upon replacement of their steam generators. This requested date reflects the most current replacement outage schedule'. Duke will keep the staff informed of any changes in the desired approval dates.

Also attached to this submittal is the Replacement Steam Generator Topical Report, Rev. 4.

This updated report (originally submitted September 30,1994), is included for information during the review of the steam generator replacement license amendment.

The'se requested changes apply to. Unit 1 only. The following are attached: Attachment 1 marked up pages to the Technical Specifications, Attachment 2, Technical Justification and No Significant Hazards Analysis, and Attachment 3 Replacement Steam Generator Topical

Report, Rev. 4. -
