U. S. Nuclear Regulatory Commission May 6, 1999 Page 2 At this time, Duke is submitting an additional supplement-to the original LAR identified by Reference 1. This supplement makes revisions to the list of reference documents contained in TS 5.6.5b for McGuire and Catawba. This TS addresses requirements for the Core Operating Limits Report. The changes proposed in this supplement are solely administrative.

A description and technical justification for the changes proposed in this supplement are contained in Attachment 3 to this letter. The original No Significant Hazards Considerations Evaluation has been updated to include the additional changes proposed in this supplement. Since the changes proposed herein are solely administrative in nature, the original categorical exclusion from performing an Environmental Assessment / Impact Statement remains applicable to this supplement.

Accordingly, included as attachments to this letter are:

Attachment la provides a marked copy of the affected TS pages for McGuire Units 1 and 2, showing the proposed changes.

Attachment 1b provides a marked copy of the affected TS pages for Catawba Units 1 and 2, showing the proposed changes.

Attachment 2a provides a reprinted version of the affected TS pages for McGuire Units 1 and 2, containing the proposed changes.
