Attached is a proposed revision to Technical Specification 3/4.6.5 to reduce the required ice l weight in the containment ice condensers at McGuire Nuclear Station. This proposed revision (

would reduce the weight ofice in the ice condensers of each unit from 2,099,790 lbs (1081 lbs/ basket) to 1,516,800 lbs (781 lbs/ basket).  !

In addition, an obsolete footnote that appears on page 3/4 6-34 is being deleted.

The marked-up Technical Specification pages (as well as revised original pages) are contained in Attachment I, thejustification and safety analysis in Attachment II, and a No Significant Hazards Analysis in Attachment Ill. i i

This amendment request has been reviewed by the McGuire Plant Operations Review Committee  !

and the corporate Nuclear Safety Review Board. It is considered to be a Cost Beneficial Licensing i Action, in that it is expected to save an ave; age of at least $250,000 per outage in averted ,

surveillance and maintenance costs.  !
