NRC IE BULLETIN NO. S0-16 POTENTIAL MISAPPLICATION OF ROSEMONT, INC.

MODELS 1151 AND 1152 PRESSURE TRANSMITTERS WITH EITHER "A" OR "D" OUTPUT CODES NO. 1 AND 2 UNITS HOPE CREEK GENERATING STATION In reply to IE Bulletin No. 80-16 dated June 27, 1980, we offer the following at this time:

PSE&G had provided interim responses to the NRC on August 27, 1980 and November 14, 1980. It was expected that the investi-gation would have been completed at this time.

Bechtel Power Corporation, our Architect Engineer, has determined that Rosemont Model 1151 or 1152 pressure transmitters with output codes "A" or "D" are planned for use only in the safety related reactor protection system. General Electric is currently working with Rosemont, Inc. on this matter. Upon development of a conclusion, GE will inform and seek PSE&G's approval of the conclusion and develop the schedule of-implementation.

It is expected that the investigation will be completed by March 20, 1981 and we will respond to the-NRC at that time.

Very truly yours, CC Office of Inspection & Enforcement Div. of Reactor Construction Inspection Washington, DC 810206 0 \of -
