On January 26, 1979, we verbally informed your Mr. W. A. Crossman of apparent weld metal defects in a nozzle to safe end shop weld of the Unit tio. 1 reactor pressure vessel. We considered this "potentially" reportable under 10 CFR 50.55(e).

We are continuing our investigation and evaluation and will notify you as soon as we have reached a conclusion.
