RESPONSE TO NRC IE BULLETIN 79-15 FILE N0: 10115

Dear Sir:

In response to IE Bulletin No. 79-15, we offer the following:

Item 1 - CPSES has four deep draft pumps similar to those shown in Figures 1 and 2 utilized in safety-related applications.

Item 2 - The pump nanufacturer is Hayward Tyler Company.

The model designation is 24VSN vertical two stage.

The capacity is 17,000 GPM (design)and 15,000 GPM (normal).

Their application is the Station Service Water -

System for Units 1 and 2.

Item 3 - The overall length of the pumps is 45'91s" from the bellmouth flare to the top of the motor stool . The suction column has a 25" diameter and the impeller casing has a 35" diameter.

Item 4 - The pumps have not been installed as of this date.
