In the Matter of Docket No. 50-259 Tennessee Valley Authority 50-260 50-296 BROWS FERRY NUCLEAR PLAHT (BFH) UNITS 1, 2, AND 3 WITHDRAWAL OF TECHNICAL SPECIFICATIOH NOS. 224 AHD 259T By letter from R. Gridley to HRC, dated February 5, 1987, TVA submitted proposed Technical Specification Ho. 224, which addresses certain provisions of 10 CFR 50, Appendix J. TVA requested the review of this submittal be placed on hold by letter from R. Gridley to HRC, dated March 19, 1987. By this letter, we hereby withdraw Technical Specification No. 224 since the issue has been addressed as part. of Technical Specification No. 251 which was, submitted by letter from R. Gridley to HRC, dated August 2, 1988.

By letter from R. Gridley to HRC, dated September 28, 1988, TVA submitted proposed Temporary Technical Specification No. 259T, which would have allowed operation during cycle 6 of BFN unit 2 with the Control Room Emergency Ventilation System (CREVS) declared inoperable. By this letter, we hereby withdraw Temporary Technical Specification Number 259T. Dose rates and the effectiveness of proposed compensatory actions contained in the subject Temporary Technical Specification request are being reevaluated. A subsequent Temporary Technical Specification amendment will be submitted on this subject, by December 30, 1988.

A summary statement of the commitment contained in this submittal is enclosed.
