Dear Mrs. Fleming:

I am responding to the letter you sent to the Chairman and Commissioners on 1 December 7, 1993, regarding the Director's Decision, DD-93-17, which addressed l emergency preparedness issues at the Pilgrim Nuclear Station in Plymouth, '

Massachusetts. These issues were raised by your petition, filed under 10 CFR 2.206, on October 30, 1991. The time in which the Commission might exercise its discretion to review the Director's Decision expired on December 14, 1993.

My staff has, nevertheless, given consideration.to the issues you have raised.

Based on their latest evaluation, I find no reason to modify the Decision that I previously reached.
