This letter, and the associated e):hibits constitutes our
decomissioning funding report. He are required to submit the report on or
p. 'before July 26, 1990. i The Decomissioning Fund was established in 1983.- The fund contains  !

approximately.$38 million. Approximately $5 million per year is added to the

                         . fund pursuant to a 1986 DPU order. State Street Bank is'the Trustee.

u L' The Funding schedule is based on operating Pilgrim thru June 8, 2012. Current funding levels provide reasonable assurance that adeauate funds will be- '  ; available to decomission Pilgrim. ' Note:' BECo applied for a License Extension.on February 28, 1986. The.NRC is actively reviewing this application and we expect a favorable decision before the end of the year. Cost /LTP LTP item-473 should be closed with the submittal of this letter. Future

i. decomissioning. efforts -should be approved and funded under a new LTP number.-
