i As we discussed with the Region I Administrator on October 6, 1989, since }

late 1987 Boston Edison has been involved in litigation before the Federal '

Energy Regulatory Commission pertaining to the operation of Pilgrim Station.

The opposing parties in that litigation are Commonwealth Electric Company, {

thirteen Massachusetts municipal light departments and other utilities having l contracts with the Company for delivery of power from Pilgrim. Consistent '

with its obligations as a licensee, Boston Edison will undertake a review of  ;

- the materials developed by the opposing parties in those proceedings. As with '

! any such materials, we will determine reportability under applicable NRC  !

regulations, and make any required reports to the NRC. At the conclusion of f i- our review we will, of course, make the materials available for NRC inspection and audit, and turn over to the NRC any materials which it requests for such further evaluation and disposition as it deems appropriate.
