Dear Dr. Murley:
3 In Reference (1), we requested an extension for our principal contractor, Stone &
Webster Engineering Corporation (SWEC), for submittal of their most recent -
quality assurance program description as required by 10 CFR 50.54(a)(2) and/or 50.55(f)(2). Northeast Utilities utilizes principal contractor's quality assurance programs only for Millstone Unit 3 and these programs are referenced in Chapter 17 of the Millstone Unit 3 FSAR.
At this time, we are submitting the current description of the SWEC Quality Assurance Program Manual for the Millstone Nuclear Power Station, Unit 3, Table of Contents, Revision F, dated April 6,1981 (Attachment 1). This program was derived, without degradation, from the SWEC Topical Report, SWSQAP l-74, Revision N/A, as approved by the NRC on December 31,1974 (Attachment 2).
We have also included a historical document (Attachment 3), containing all of the changes te the SWEC Quality Assurance Program Manual for the Millstone Nuclear Power Station, Unit 3 since te first edition of the manual was issued in August 1973. For your convenience, a summarized listing of these changes is also included (Attachment 4).
