FLORIDA POWER CORPORATION SUPPLEMENT 1 SPECIAL REPORT 85-01 Special Report 85-01 discussed inoperability of all three triaxial peak accelographs at Crystal River Unit 3 and stated that two of the devices would be repaired by May 24,1985 (device atop the "A" Steam Generator and device atop the Borated Water Storage Tank (BWST)) with the third device repaired by July 18,1985 (device atop the Reactor Vessel (RV)

Head). The Steam Generator and BWST devices have been repaired. The purpose of this supplement is to extend the expected completion date for repairs to the RV Head Device.

Per Special Report 85-01, the RV Head device will be repaired af ter the RV Head is reinstalled. Due to unforeseen activities which occurred since the original date was reported, the RV Head was not reinstalled until July 14, 1985. Several maintenance activities on and around the RV Head must be completed prior to reinstallation of the device. Reinstallation will take place prior to ascension to MODE 4 during recovery from Refuel V.
