SUMMARY

OF MEETING ON DECEMBER 4, 2023, WITH TRISO-X LLC, TO ALIGN ON TRISO-X DRAFT RESPONSES TO THE REQUESTS FOR ADDITIONAL INFORMATION FOR THE CHEMICAL SAFETY ANALYSIS (ENTERPRISE PROJECT IDENTIFIER L-2022-NEW-0005)

The U.S. Nuclear Regulatory Commission (NRC) hosted a closed Microsoft Teams meeting with TRISO-X, LLC (TRISO-X) on December 4, 2023, from 2:00PM until 3:00PM. The purpose of the meeting was to align on the TRISO-X draft responses to the NRCs request for additional information (RAI) for the chemical safety analysis, which were issued via letter dated October 25, 2023 (Agencywide Documents Access and Management System Accession No. ML23265A262). TRISO-X provided a draft copy of the RAI responses to support the meeting.

During the call the NRC staff discussed a number of clarifications TRISO-X could incorporate in the RAI responses to improve clarity and discussed providing some additional information on the portal. TRISO-X agreed to consider incorporating a number of the classifications into their RAI responses. TRISO-X confirmed that they intend to submit their chemical RAI responses by December 11, 2023, since the actual due date in the RAI letter falls on a weekend. The NRC staff agreed this is appropriate.
