SUMMARY
OF SIX MEETINGS HELD BETWEEN DECEMBER 11, 2023 AND JANUARY 23, 2024, WITH TRISO-X LLC, TO ALIGN ON A SUPPLEMENT FOR THE RESPONSES TO THE REQUESTS FOR ADDITIONAL INFORMATION REGARDING THE INTEGRATED SAFETY ANALYSIS The U.S. Nuclear Regulatory Commission (NRC) hosted six closed Microsoft Teams meetings with TRISO-X, LLC (TRISO-X) between December 2023 and January 2024. The purpose of these meetings was to align on the type of information TRISO-X needs to provide as a supplement for their responses to the requests for additional information (RAIs), see (Agencywide Documents Access and Management System Accession No. ML23285A344).
This memo provides a high-level summary of those meetings. It also includes a public enclosure containing a list of the meeting participants, a non-public enclosure with a more detailed meeting summary, and a non-public slide presentation presented at the meetings.
The NRCs RAIs were developed based on the NRC review of the TRISO-X license application and integrated safety analysis (ISA) summary received April 5, 2022 (ML22101A200) and supplemented by letters dated October 13, 2022 (ML22286A144) and November 4, 2022 (ML22308A251). In addition, the NRC staff held several interactions with TRISO-X to support the NRC staffs review of the ISA Summary and inform the development and understanding of the RAIs and proposed RAI responses. These included the following meetings:

- 2) Issuance of the RAIs held on April 13, 2023 (ML23117A110) and April 19, 2023 (ML23312A193 - non-public), July 5, 2023 (ML23312A248), July 13, 2023 (ML24011A178 - non-public), and August 1, 2023 (ML23233A096 - non-public); and
- 3) Responses to the RAIs held on September 27, 2024 (ML23286A080).
The six meetings were held to allow in-depth discussion of each RAI. Typically, one or two RAIs were discussed in depth during each meeting. The discussions were focused on technical issues with the purpose of enhancing the understanding between NRC and TRISO-X staff on the guidance and the information necessary for TRISO-X to demonstrate compliance with Title 10 of the Code of Federal Regulations, Part 70. NRC and TRISO-X staff also agreed to hold additional meetings to discuss specific examples in the ISA Summary and to identify a timeframe to provide a supplement to the NRC, which will be recorded in the public meeting summary for that future meeting.
