Dear Jennifer Wheeler:

The U. S. Nuclear Regulatory Commission (NRC) staff has developed a number of requests for additional information (RAIs) to support its safety and safeguards review of the TRISO-X, LLC (TRISO-X) license application for a new fuel fabrication facility located in Oak Ridge, Tennessee. Your application was submitted via letter dated April 5, 2022 (Agencywide Documents Access and Management System (ADAMS) Accession Number ML22101A200) and supplemented by letters dated October 13, 2022 (ML22286A144) and November 4, 2022 (ML22308A251). The NRC staff also received your Environmental Report dated September 23, 2022 (ML22266A269).

Our review of your license application has identified the need for additional information on portions of Chapter 1, all of Chapter 2, and the Emergency Plan. Please provide the additional information requested in the enclosures within 30 days from the date of this letter.

We continue to anticipate completing our review by June 2025, as previously stated in our acceptance review letter dated November 18, 2022 (ML22320A110). This date could change depending on the responses to the RAIs, findings of our technical review, or other factors. We will promptly communicate any significant changes to this schedule.
